Totem Pole Cactus
Botanical Name: Lophocereus schottii f. monstrosus
Common Names: Totem Pole Cactus, Monstrose Totem Pole Cactus

Totem Pole Cactus is a unique, slow-growing columnar cactus known for its smooth, sculptural stems and unusual knobby growth pattern. Unlike many cacti, this monstrose form has little to no visible spines, making it a standout choice for collectors, patio containers, xeriscaping, and modern desert-style plantings.

Its upright, twisting form gives each plant a one-of-a-kind appearance. Mature plants can eventually grow tall in warm climates, but they remain manageable in containers for many years.

Available in standard nursery pots or upgraded handmade premium concrete pots. Concrete pots are made by hand, so each one has its own natural texture and character.

Care Info
Light: Best in bright light to full sun. Acclimate slowly to strong afternoon sun to prevent sunburn.
Water: Water deeply, then allow soil to dry completely before watering again. Reduce watering during cool or cloudy weather.
Soil: Requires very well-draining cactus or gritty soil mix. Avoid heavy soil that stays wet.
Temperature: Protect from freezing temperatures. Best grown in a pot that can be moved or protected during winter.
Hardiness: Generally suitable for warm, dry climates and containers. Not reliably cold hardy in Central Texas without winter protection.
Growth: Slow-growing, upright, and sculptural. Excellent for collectors and low-water container gardens.
Pet Safety: Use caution around pets and children. Although mostly spineless, cactus plants should not be eaten.

Totem Pole Cactus is a great choice for anyone looking for a rare, architectural cactus with strong visual character and easy-care watering needs.
