Mexican Bird of Paradise (Erythrostemon mexicanus) - 1 Gallon pot
Mexican Bird of Paradise is a fast-growing, heat-loving shrub known for its delicate, fern-like foliage and clusters of fragrant, bright yellow flowers. Native to northern Mexico and southern Texas, it brings a tropical appearance to xeriscapes, pollinator gardens, and low-water landscapes.
Blooming from spring through summer, its showy flowers attract bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial pollinators. It performs best in full sun and well-draining soil and becomes highly drought tolerant once established.
Mexican Bird of Paradise can grow approximately 10–15 feet tall and wide. It may be maintained as a dense flowering shrub or pruned into an attractive multi-trunk ornamental tree. In frost-free climates, it may remain semi-evergreen, while hard freezes can cause leaf loss or dieback.
