Dwarf Katie Ruellia (Ruellia simplex 'Katie', also classified as Ruellia brittoniana), or Dwarf Mexican Petunia, is a compact, clumping perennial . It features narrow, dark green leaves and petunia-like trumpet flowers in shades of blue-purple, pink, or white. Growing 6 to 12 inches tall, it blooms from spring until frost, attracts pollinators, and is recognized as a Texas Superstar plant for its heat and drought tolerance. 

Growing Conditions
Light: Full sun to partial shade; best blooms occur in full sun.
Soil: Adaptable to most soils, tolerating both dry conditions and occasional wet spots.
Hardiness: Reliable perennial in USDA Zones 8–11; foliage may die back in hard frosts but returns from roots in spring.
Maintenance: Low-care with very few pests; shear back in late winter to refresh growth.
